Behind the scenes of ‘The Sailor Girl’

The Sailor Girl is set in Auckland, New Zealand… a city that regularly gets listed in the Top Ten most livable cities in the world. Straddling two natural harbours (the Waitemata and Manukau), Auckland has a wealth of coastline and beaches.

Here are some of my own photos of the places I refer to in The Sailor Girl.

Enjoy!

Just beyond the Waitemata Harbour lies the Hauraki Gulf - a sailing paradise. The hill in the background is actually a dormant volcanic island, named "Rangitoto". The circular island looks almost identical from all angles, and is visible from many parts of Auckland.

Mission Bay beach is a popular beach near central Auckland. And look, there's Rangitoto again in the background!

I can’t show you too many more photos without revealing the plot… you’ll have to imagine just how beautiful the other scenes and landscapes are in The Sailor Girl!
